Abstract

A geared motor unit for hoisting winches consists of a helical gear and a worm in mesh inside a casing as well as an external rotor motor. The stator (10) is mounted on a sleeve (8) with longitudinal ribs (9) and fastened to the casing. The rotor (16) is inside a drum (15) with a cooling vane wheel. Brake (18) shoes are applied to the drums outer surface. The ribs (9) on the sleeve (8) form with the stator (10) channels for cooling air. This arrangement is compact and reduces the amount of overhang of the pulling roller. The drum (15) is fitted to the smaller dia. end (6a) of the shaft (6) by means of a wedge (12), bolts (13) and covering disc (14).
