Abstract
The method is for the batching and delivery in quick succession of a number of different liquids from different containers, to a reaction vessel, for use in studying reactions of liquids which as unstable and only available in small quantities. The movements of the reagents are controlled by admixture of an inert liquid, immiscible with the reagent concerned, of which a short plug forms a piston acting as transfer element in a narrow bore tube. The liquid piston prevents contact with air or with other substance. The vessels and tubes are made of a material not wetted by the fluids used, to assist freedom fro contamination on change of the liquids used.
