Abstract

The method for strengthening and repairing defective concrete structures, partic. cracked highway slabs (2) includes drilling and filling oblique holes (3, 4) through the defective area. The holes are filled with epoxy resin based material into which steel reinforcing bars (5) are introduced prior to the resin polymerising. The holes (3, 4) traverse the crack (1) and the full depth of the slab (2), in planes transverse to the crack. The holes (3, 4) may be provided at regular longitudinal intervals along the crack and alternately inclined in opposite directions.
