Abstract
The brake mechanism for cable railway incorporates two or more driving pulleys close together. Brake shoes are mounted on both sides as a component of paired levers swivelling opposite ways. One lever is attached to a fixed hinge and activated by a piston unit mechanically adjustable in one direction, and is adjustable in the other direction. The lever (8, 11) in each pair (5, 6) are resiliently and elastically spaced from each other, with one from each pair attached to a fixed hinge (10). The other levers (11) are connected to each other by a thrust piston unit (7) which has free spatial movement. Evenly distributed braking force is ensured on both sides of all the driving pulleys.
