Abstract

The fishing line weight is designed for automatic assembly and comprises two shaped halves (1, 2) cast from lead. Each has a bowl-shaped lower portion, the approximate mid-portion having a lug (9, 9') on one side and a corresponding hole (7) on the other, forming a pivot when assembled. The two parts are placed together, the bowls facing. Both parts are offset, each lug being opposite a hole and assembly is effected by sliding motion. An omega-shaped leaf spring (3) keeps the weight closed, the spring being inverted and pushed over the sloping upper faces (5, 5') each side to engage in location recesses (12).
