Ces dispersions aqueuses contiennent 20 à 60 % en poids d'un polyamidimide ayant un diamètre de particules inférieur à 5 micros et 1 à 6 % en poids d'un colloïde protecteur susceptible d'être dilué à l'eau, et le polyamidimide est un produit de condensation de : a. 35-45 % en poids d'au moins une diamine aromatique, b. 10-60 % en poids d'au moins un anhydride d'acide triacarboxylique aromatique ou de ses dérivés, c. 5-45 % en poids d'acide hexane-, pentane- et/ou butane-tétracarboxylique ou de leurs dérivés et d. 0-20 % en poids d'acide tétracarboxylique aromatique ou de ses dérivés; pour les préparer, le polyamidimide est tout d'abord séché, puis broyé finement à l'état humide, à l'aide de broyeurs de mise en dispersion qui présentent une forte densité d'énergie locale.
