Abstract

The merchandise is placed on a travelling conveyor belt which is operated from a mobile cart. The cart is able to move sideways on the frame. The conveyor can be displaced vertically to find the required height of the pallet, but slightly above it. The conveyor and pallet are drawn apart in order to drop the merchandise on the pallet. A second row may be laid on the pallet before the bottom row is completed. In this way the articles may be staggered in between rows while retaining a pre measured base size. The end conveyor is supplied from an intermediate conveyor (31) so that the height and the location of the end may be adjusted.
