Abstract

The system is for the automatic flow control of fluid movements along two pipes of different diameters. Each pipe (1, 2) has a metering venturi with a short parallel sided throat section (3, 4) and pressure tapping tubes before (17, 19) and after (18, 20) each venturi. The pressure tapping tubes are connected with coaxial cylinders with a central partitioning membrance (13, 14) for each cylinder. Each membrance is attached to a piston rod clamp, the piston rod being common to the two cylinders and having at each end a conical washer (16, 16') with diameter appropriate to a restriction in the pipe, so that the piston rod reciprocates to open and close the valves in each flow-pipe in turn.
