Abstract

L'invention décrit un procédé permettant d'utiliser des déchets ou des matières à forte teneur en silice ou en alumine pour la production de ciment Portland ou de matières pouzzolaniques. Dans un réacteur à plasma, dans lequel au moins un canon à plasma tourne autour d'un axe vertical et est dirigé de façon oblique par rapport à cet axe vers une contre-électrode, on envoie des matières broyées comprenant au moins une certaine proportion d'une matière carbonée naturelle à faible pouvoir calorifique. Lorsque la matière émerge du plasma, on la met au contact de l'air pour brûler encore la matière combustible et récupérer (par exemple sous forme d'électricité) l'énergie thermique ainsi produite. Le procédé permet d'utiliser des déchets plus ou moins stériles d'une mine de charbon, du schiste bitumineux ou du sable pétrolifère, pour produire des matières pouzzolaniques et du ciment hydraulique (et de récupérer de la chaleur).
