Abstract

The reactive circuit element is basically inductive but has associated parasitic capacitances. The value of inductance and capacitance can be closely controlled and repeated making the technique suitable for mass production. The element may be a simple inductance or a transformer etc, and is intended for use at around 20MHz. The element consists of a film (21, 22) of chosen thickness of some suitable metal, preferably a molybdenum alloy laid on a substrate of ceramic, glass or ferrite etc. Its form is symmetrical, and follows a rectangular or sawtooth path. A transformer consists of two such inductors having a suitable number of "turns" in parallel.
