Abstract

The bubble detection system has a detector. This detector has a transmitting (4) and receiving elements (5). The receiving element (5) receives radiations emitted by the transmitting element. The system has means (2) for maintaining a section of the pipe (1) (tube), to be survelled, between the transmitting (4) and receiving elements (5). A detection circuit (8) connected to the receiver (5) produces a signal whose level is a function of the radiation level collected by the receiver. A detection signal variation circuit has a memory which receives the detection signal. This memory only retains the value of the signal if it remains constant during a predetermined time. This time is longer than the passage time of a bubble between the detection elements. The predetermined time is less than a certain value. This permits the system to adapt itself to progressive changes in the properties of the liquid in which bubbles are to be detected.
