Abstract

The fluid metering pump incorporates a barrier formed by a column of fluid whose displacement controls the intake and discharge of the volume of product to be measured. A straight tubular component (32) containing the barrier and intermediate fluid has at its lower end a casing (35) with a distorting wall (34) in contact with the barrier fluid (43). This is actuated by a reciprocating component (42) coupled to a drive mechanism. At the top, the tubular component has a casing (36) divided by a distorting wall (37) into two chambers (35, 38). One of these is filled with the intermediate fluid, and the other connected selectively to the inlet and outlet (40, 41) for the fluid to be metered.
