Abstract

A liquid dispenser of the balance type dispenses measured volumes of liquid from one of a pair of chambers (119, 120) disposed at opposite sides of a dividing wall (121). The chambers may pivot about a horizontal axis (118) between bi-stable locations abutting adjustable screw stops (133, 134). A liquid inlet (113) fills each chamber alternately as the balance tips from side to side. During the filling of one chamber fluid leaves the other through orifice (127, 128). The flow out of the chambers is controlled by the provision of site walls (125, 126). The number of cycles through which the dispenser passes is monitored by a counting apparatus. Liquid leaves the dispenser through a conduit in its base under the action of gravity.
