Abstract

The automatic handler for microscope slides comprises a rotating holder for a number of specimens (32) consisting of a motor-driven slotted disc located in a bowl-shaped container (16) with a lid (24). The slides are held in the radial slits in the disc. The slides are rotated past a spray nozzle (43) inserted through the wall of the bowl. A suitable agent is stored in a vertical reservoir (36) in a stand beside the bowl. Pressure for the sprayer is provided by an aerosol canister (34) held in a clip in the same stand. Pressure is released at timed intervals by means of an electromagnetically-operated plunger (38) attached to the valve of the aerosol can.
