Abstract

In parent patent a plant for mfg. cement by the dry method used two preheaters (a,b) heated by the fumes leaving a combustion chamber (c) or a rotary drum furnace (d) located downstream of chamber (c). All the raw material is fed into one preheater (a) but is divided into two fractions (1,2) after one preheating stage. Fractions (1) travels through the remaining stages of preheater (a) to chamber (c); but fraction (2) travels through preheater (b) to chamber (c). In this addn., the fume outlet duct of preheater (a) is connected to a suction fan leading to the fume outlet duct of preheater (b); and a second suction fan is located on the outlet side of the joint between the two ducts. A large vol. of gas at a lower temp. can be obtd. for drying the raw material.
