Abstract

Bath massager operates by liquid or gas flow acting on the patient's skin, and includes a device for regulating bath temp. according to the patient's heart beat. A programme control device programmes liquid or gas flow in such a way that massage cycles in the direction of venous blood return to the heart are applied to the skin. The control device pref. controls the rhythm of massage cycles, and is controlled by a heart beat detector. The massage rhythm is pref. regulated to approx. 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 etc., of the heart rhythm. The heart beat detector pref. controls massage speed which is reduced or stopped above a heart rhythm threshold. The massager prevents any stoppage in circulation and improves the therapeutical effect, and is partic suitable for patients with heart and lung troubles.
