Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un amplificateur à onde progressive à mobilité différentielle négative. L'amplificateur objet de l'invention comporte une couche de matériau semi-conducteur à mobilité differentielle négative 1 déposée sur une première face d'un substrat diélectrique 2. La surface libre de la couche de matériau semi-conducteur 1 comporte des électrodes en forme de peigne métallique 3 et 4 dont les doigts imbriqués forment contact ohmique avec la couche 1. La face du substrat opposée à la première face du substrat 2 comporte une plaque métallique 5 formant avec les électrodes en forme de peigne métallique 3 et 4 une ligne à bandes parallèles dissymétriques. En fonctionnement les électrodes 3 et 4 sont portées à un potentiel continu de polarisation et à un potentiel haute fréquence du signal à amplifier. Application à l'amplification de signaux électriques de fréquence supérieure à 10 Ghz.
