Abstract
La présente invention se rapporte à des substances luminescentes. Les substances selon la présente invention comprennent un fluorure de terre rare, choisi dans le groupe comprenant scandium, yttrium et les éléments ayant un nombre atomique entre 51 et 71, activé au manganèse, comprenant éventuellement un élément choisi dans titane, zirconium, hafnium, cérium, silicone, germanium et étain. La substance fluorescente selon la présente invention émet, sous excitation, une radiation dans la partie verte ou jaune-verte du spectre. La fluorescence rémanente est comparable sinon meilleure, à celle des phosphores connus et la résistance au brûlage est améliorée si du titane est utilisé comme activateur avec le manganèse.
