Abstract

Procédé d'affinage de la fonte liquide, au convertisseur, selon lequel, à l'aide d'au moins une tuyère à double alimentation, on insuffle, au fond du convertisseur, un gaz d'affinage très oxydant, pouvant être de l'oxygène sensiblement pur, par le conduit central de la tuyère, et on injecte de l'oxygene sensiblement pur, à l'état liquide, par le circuit périphérique de la tuyère. Ce procédé peut avantageusement être mis en oeuvre sur tout convertisseur pourvu de moyens d'affinage par le fond et permet de ne pas introduire, au cours de l'élaboration de l'acier, d'impuretés genantes telles que le soufre, l'azote et l'hydrogène.
