Abstract

A servo-controlled loud-speaker enclosure is used to obtain low frequencies efficient radiation of power. It is also less susceptible to air loading effects or positioning of the enclosure. The enclosure has a power amplifier (1), a loudspeaker (3) and a feedback element (2). It also has a sound adaptor (5) tuned to the lower limit of the pass-band frequency. The unwanted frequencies of the sound adaptor (5) are elliminated by the feedback element (2). The power transfer of the loud-speaker (3) to the sound adaptor (5) is controlled by the feedback element (2) in accordance with the acoustic loading of the ambient air. The enclosure also has a compression chamber (7) and a vent (6).
