Abstract

The edges of e.g. a textile sample are locked to prevent fraying by applying a strip of adhesive along the edge of one of the faces of the textile. The strip of adhesive is 1-2 cm wide. The method is used for e.g. locking the edges of screens used in screen printing. The adhesive may be a glue or a thermoplastic fused to the edges of the sample. The adhesive may be applied by running two edges between a roller nip which applies the adhesive.
