Abstract

Press-stamping of corrugated metal sheets back into their original shape; is a process esp. for use in-situe on moulds for asbestos cement sheet prodn. and entails the pressing of two waves or undulations (C B) at a time, with the next operation including the trailing (C) of the two waves previously (B&C) pressed, and the process, thus pressing each wave twice. Pref. the press constitutes upper (20) and lower soles (19), each presenting an undulating work surface, and each embodying two undulations which extend either side of a centre line; this centre line being coincident with upper and lower wave generants. Pref. the press's exit undulation (26 etc.) terminates with a curve matching the leading sheet curve; and press pitch (P), radii (R1 etc) and wave depth (H) are closer to nominal sheet values than profiling press parameters.
