OBORUDOVANIJU DLYA PROIZVODSTVA ASBOTSEMENTNYKH IZDELY I RULONNOKROVELNYKH MATERIALOV. 23 Dec., 1968, No. 61064/68. Heading B5A. Apparatus for corrugating flat asbestoscement sheets comprises two sets of converging endless belts which corrugate the blank and a further set of belts which shape the sheet to the required dimensions. As shown, the first set of belts comprises upper belts 15 and lower belts 17 offset relative to the upper belts, both of these sets converging towards rollers 11 over which these belts pass. The flat sheets are fed through rollers 50 where an emulsion coat from bath 49 is applied and are corrugated between parts 26 and 27 of the belts 15 and 17. The sheets then pass into the second section defined by belts 16, 18 where they are formed to the correct dimensions and trimmed. The upper and lower belts are laterally spaced by half the repeat distance of the corrugations as is shown in Fig. 4 (a section along IV-IV in Fig. 1) and comprise shaping members 22 with material contacting face 23 mounted on chains 16, 18. The upper parts of chain 18 are supported by rigid members 29 and the lower parts of chain 16 press the sheet against shaped supports 24, giving it the correct profile. Extra chains 38 with flat pressing members 39 flatten the edge of the sheet against block 37 for cutting between rotating blades 35 and drum 36. The corrugated sheet is removed from the second section by conveyer 19 which has a similar form to conveyer 18, the spaces between the chains being filled by shaped members similar to supports 24 to maintain the configuration of the sheet.
