Abstract

Identity card, credit card, works pass, or other identification medium has data store of integrated semiconductor circuit (2) which consists of a programmable non-erasable read-only memory. Alternatively, the integrated semiconductor circuit (2) consists of a non-volatile memory in which the stored information is not lost if the power is cut-off. The data store is a combination of one or more programmable non-erasable read-only memories and one or more non-volatile memories.
