Abstract

The steam power plant is provided with a condenser which is cooled by a liquid which supplies heat to a boiler through a heat exchanger. The boiler heats the vapour of a closed circuit system which drives a vapour cycle machine. The vapour is condensed in a second condenser and the liquid is pumped back to the boiler to repeat the cycle. The second condenser is cooled by a heat exchanger which supplies heat to the radiators of the central heating system of a building. The combination of a vapour cycle machine and a central heating system extracts the maximum mechanical energy and heat energy from the fuel used by the steam power plant.
