Abstract

The truncated cone (4) of porous material has a metallic flange (1) which is gripped between the flanges of the carburettor and the inlet manifold. The cone projects into the manifold with its sides tapering away from the carburettor. Its pores have a dial less than 12 microns. Vapourised fuel travels down the centre of the passage from the carburettor and passes through the open end of the cone. Liq. droplets of fuel are kept to the outside of the passage where they fall on the cone and are pulled into the pores by capillary action.
