Abstract

A device for polarization of cylindrical connectors is used to prevent mismatching or cross-plugging should the connector halves be inverted before insertion. The device comprises a cylindrical shell (1) and a mating cylindrical shell (1'). Each shell (1, 1') has internal slots (2) which correspond to numbers (4, 4') on the end of the shells. One of the shells (1) has a key (3) which mates with a recess of the other shell (1'). The shell (1) which fits over the socket (8) has one slot (2) which fits onto the key (7) of the socket (8). The shell (1') which fits over the plug (8') has a similar slot (2') which fits onto the key (7') of the plug (8') according to the polarization required.
