Abstract
Le dispositif d'affichage utilise une cellule de cristal liquide placée entre polariseurs. Les moyens de polarisation et d'analyse sont aménagés et positionnés de telle sorte que la transmission de lumière soit nulle lorsqu'une tension Vm est appliquée à la cellule, cette tension Vm étant supérieure à celle correspondant au seuil optique de la cellule. La courbe de transmission de la cellule en fonction de la tension appliquée est alors fortement croissante au-delà de la valeur Vm. La commande du dispositif s'effectue à l'aide de signaux de tension supérieure à Vm et de faible excursion, tout en obtenant des transmissions élevées et un contraste notable, ce qui permet un adressage d'information selon des lignes et colonnes avec un grand nombre de lignes. Application : affichage d'informations.
