Abstract

An outlet grid for a ventilation duct incorporates baffles to hold back drops of water contd. in the air. Each baffle consists of a slat with a shaped cross-section. The part nearest to the outlet of the grid, and towards the outside of the duct, is flat and vertical inducing non-turbulent air flow. The part nearest the inlet of the grid and towards the inside of the duct presents an oblique surface to the flow of air, making an angle between 90 degrees and 180 degrees with the plane of the grid frame. The part between the inlet and outlet parts, makes an oblique angle to the plane of the grid frame, but in the inverse sense to the inlet surface. The slats carry gutters for water drops.
