Abstract

Endless, moving paper tape is coated by passing the tape whose surface is provided with repeated printed pattern in an adhesive substance through a coating zone in which particles carried by an air suspension are caused to impinge on the tape, collecting the surlpus of particles which do not adhere to the tape and exhausting them in air stream from the coating zone. Used for printing cigarette wrapping paper supplied to the cigarette making machine in the form of tape with legends in "gold" type using a bronze printing method. Moveable elements in the printing are dispensed with, whereby wear or blockages are prevented and paper scratching and paper fluff contamination of gliding powder is also prevented.
