Abstract

The safety belt with a winding-in mechanism is for use in a motor vehicle. The winding coil (5) is mounted at the bottom of the body and to the side, and onto it there winds a first belt (6) running initially at the back and base of the seat (1) and as far as the body centre (7). From this point it forms a vertical run (9) and then finally passes in front of the seat to form the ventral section of the belt. The end of the first belt engages with a locking device (10) mounted on the access door (4) to the seat concerned. The device is interlocked with the door catch so as to release when the door is opened. A second belt (11, 14) is attached to the rear part of the first one, and also to the front one, passing over the backrest and forming a shoulder strap securing the torso of the driver or passenger.
