Abstract

The equipment comprises a microdose dispenser for reagents provided with a set of vertical syringes which can be operated simultaneously and are positioned in a fixed pattern as viewed in plan. A loading plate has a set of reagent pockets, identical in number and pattern positions to the syringes; these pockets are filled with reagents, the plate is located beneath the syringes and the complete set of syringes makes a single, vertical reciprocation to load all syringes at once. The loading plate is removed and replaced with a reaction tray which has a set of reaction pockets, identical in number and pattern positions to the syringes and to the reagent pockets. The reaction pockets are preloaded with micro doses of liq. to be testes and await discharge of reagents from superimposed syringes. All syringe bodies are pref. internal with a support plate while all syringe pistons are fixed to a second relatively displaceable crosshead. Used for simultaneously testing many liq. samples, partic. blood samples, with a corresp. number of different reagents. The results in all tests are pref. shown with identification numbers on the screen of a visual display unit. The loading of the syringes and subsequent dosing of reagents into samples is made much easier quicker and quite positive by using the identically patterned loading plate, and reaction tray.
