Abstract

L'invention concerne la compression des signaux de fac-similé par élimination de la redondance. La section de codage 120 de la station émettrice du dispositif de transmission de fac-similé de l'invention comporte, entre autres, des mémoires de ligne 180 qui enregistrent deux lignes d'analyse adjacentes de l'image à transmettre. Un codeur 190 compare le contenu de ces memoires pour réduire au minimum la redondance du signal de fac-similé d'origine, afin de réduire la quantité d'information à transmettre, et le temps de transmission. Application à la transmission de documents par fac-similé.
