Abstract

The furnace has a tube (D) made from absorbant material which is co-axial with the burner (B). The tube (D) is concentric with the hearth (C). The inner diameter of the hearth has an internal diameter suitable for the flame size and the length of the hearth is such that combustion takes place before the flue gases occupy the annular space (E). The exhaust gases escape through the flue (F). The burner eliminates thermal shocks due to variable demand and prevents the need for intermittent ignition. This increases the furnace life.
