Abstract

Non-adhesive, electomeric shaped parts consist of a normally tacky, non-crosslinked elastomer, esp. polychloroprene, and by wt. w.r.t. total wt. of parts, 3 (1)% water-sol. material, 1 (0.5)% volatile material and 0.05-3 (0.5-2)% of a coherent, integral porous coating of a water-insol., hydrated inorganic oxide (I). (I) consists of silicic acid and aluminic acid polymers and/or silicic acid-aluminic acid copolymers. The shaped parts have a min. dimension of 0.01-10 (0.1-5)mm. The shaped parts are highly porous, appear opaque when dispersed in water and their cross-sectional area on micro-photographs exhibits a porous structure. Addn. of (I) allows prepn. of free-flowing, non-adhesive pellets or granulates from adhesive elastomers. Shaped parts do not agglomerate on storage.
