Abstract
The anchorage of an offshore structure floating at a selected position in a body of water, is designed for maximal wave and current conditions. The anchorage is effected by placing a baseplate structure on the under water bed where required, and attaching to it the buoyant structure via parallel legs. Each leg consists of a number of long hollow tubes each of which is under tension and is maintained parallel to the others by spacers positioned at predetermined points along the leg assemblies. The spacers are designed so as to increase the lateral drag on the water and they are positioned so that the maximal deflection of the stand pipes is less than their spacing apart. Prevents the stand pipes from damaging each other and reduces the possibility of damage by fatigue in the stand pipes as a consequence of resonance motion caused by unstable vibration.
