Abstract

Procédé de traitement de compositions à fumer et nouveaux produits ainsi obtenus. Ces compositions à fumer se composent de matière de tabac naturel et/ou de matières organiques ou minérales qui sont combustibles et non nuisibles à la santé, en tant que matières premières, et de carboxyméthylcellulose sodique en tant que liant; cette composition est chauffée jusqu'à 110-240 degrés C, de manière souhaitable pendant 150-5 minutes, afin de réduire la teneur en humidité à 1 % et en dessous; ensuite, on amène la teneur en humidité de la composition ainsi traitée thermiquement à la valeur à l'équilibre. La présente invention est particulièrement utile pour fournir des compositions à fumer qui présentent une résistance à l'eau nettement supérieure aux compositions non traitées thermiquement, tout en présentant des propriétés physiques égales (autres que la résistance à l'eau) ainsi que de bonnes propriétés organoleptiques.
