Abstract

The machine is used for homothetic tomography of the breast, the patient being immobile in a plane in line with a shaft on a column. This shaft is on a frame, the position of the homothetic or object plane being adjustable vertically. A lower pivot is arranged in the plane of the photographic film and permits rocking of the column each side of vertical, also horizontal movement. The radiation source is partly fixed to the frame and partly to the column. The frame permits horizontal movement, and the column permits vertical movement. All three planes are at constant distances from each other and are constantly parallel.
