Abstract

An overhead travelling gantry has a connection arrangement with a beam (1) made from sheet material with an angle (4) attached to the pointed base (3) to carry the lifting tackle. This beam is suspended below a horizontal plate (9) by straps (10) mounted on each side. These straps are hook shaped, and fit over channels along the plate (9). To locate the beam (1), locking screws (12) which pass through slots in the horizontal parts (10a) of the hooks, engage nuts (11) housed inside the channels. Thus to slide the beam along the plate, the nuts are loosened, and when a correct position has been reached they are tightened again. The plate is attached by a hinge arrangement (6, 6a, 7) to an overhead rail (5).
