Abstract

The system consists of a rigid base plate to which is pivoted a second plate supporting the seat. The seat is fitted to the second plate by conventional slide rails. The seat supporting plate is pivoted eccentrically to the fixed plate so that the occupants is able to swivel the seat to enter or alight with ease. The seat supporting plate is held in the normal use position by a locking bolt (9) actuated by a pull rope (11) attached to the vehicle door (12). A spring (27) is provided to keep the seat in the pivoted position when the vehicle door is open. Rollers are provided between the fixed and pivoted plates to allow the seat to swivel freely.
