Abstract

Connector in plug or socket form for insulated multistrand wires laid parallel in a ribbon structure, the wire group being held as a ribbon by this same insulation. The connector cross-section is rectangular, the individual male or female pins making contact with the wiring without having to strip off any insulation. The connector has three basic sections to its shell, held together by end bolts, the upper section having a wire locating system. Connection to each wire from the connector electrodes is by a square cross-section spike extending from them and entering the end faces of the wires which are constrained within the shell ensuring a secure contact.
