Abstract

The angiographic probe has automatic occlusion, and comprises an oblong tubular body with a ferrule at one end. An inflatable balloon (3) extends round it near this end, and there is an interal lengthwise passage (2) in the body, running to the other end. This passage is connected to the ballon by a first pening (A) formed in the body, and by a large number of second openings (B) upstream of the balloon to the atmosphere. There can be a second internal lengthwise passage in the body, parallel to the first, and connected via a further opening to a second enclosing balloon, mounted upstream of the first one. The probe is particularly for the examination of hollow or sub-hepatic lesions.
