Abstract

In the mfr. of tubes by welding adjacent longitudinal edges of a sheet of metal, at least one edge is provided with projections welded to the other edge of the tube. The projections are pref. made by cutting the metal sheet; and the pref. welding machine has two tools, each with a semicircular recess so that the tools forms a circle in which the rolled sheet is placed for welding. Each of the two tools consists of a copper piece and an insulating piece, with a 90 degrees curve so that the two pieces make a semicircular recess.
