Abstract

The window is double glazed and has a blind formed by a layer of liq. in a gap, enabling the light transmitted to be adjusted. The window frame has a curved upper and lower profile (3) and double seals, permitting tilting (43, 45) and sliding. Three panes of glass are used, the outer and the inner forming an air gap. An additional interior pane provides the liq. gap. An opaque liq. fills a container (34) in the upper frame, a transparent liq. fills a similar lower container (36). They are non-miscible. A hand pump (20) pressurises the lower container to raise or lower (37) the respective liq. levels (35).
