Abstract

Device is for transferring a glass pane from one horizontal conveyor (1) to a second horizontal conveyor (2) which is pref. at 90 degrees to (1). The device uses a table contg. holes which provide an air cushion underneath a transfer plate which is driven vertically so the air cushion can hold a pane against the transfer plate. The transfer plate is mounted on a vertical pivot shaft by >=1 telescopic arms, and the pivot shaft is rotated so that all parts of the plate travel in a quarter of a circle to move a pane from (1) to (2). Two pivot shafts and two telescopic arms are pref. used to move the transfer plate. Reliable operation is obtd. without subjecting the glass panes to shock or vibration; and the panes follow a prescribed path.
