Abstract

Method for mfg. handles on a closed bag for loose prods., made from a tube with transverse joint lines for closing off the interior of the bag, is carried out by folding the top part of the bag inwards to form two inner bellow-like portions. The walls of the bag are then joined together transversely at two levels one above the other, with the joint at each level extending through four thicknesses. The top part of the bag between the two transverse joint lines is then cut to form a central recess. Pref. the bag is made from a film of synthetic heat-weldable material, and the two transverse joints at the top of the bag and the one at the bottom are formed by heat welding. Handles of high stability allowing easy manipulation are formed.
