Abstract

A bag made of heat-weldable plastics film e.g. polyethylene film has welded gusseted walls and bottom, and top flaps with handle holes. Each wall has seams with a closing tape in it. The tapes are welded into the sidewall weld seams each of which has an opening through which the tape may be pulled for closing the bag. The walls have parts extending from the underside of the seams to the top side and covering the openings in the seams to the top side and covering the openings in the seams to their inside in order to close the openings w.r.t. the interior of the bag. These parts of the walls have, above the seams, handle flaps with finger hole for carrying the bag. The flaps have weak lines extending between the finger hole and the seam from 1 side of the bag to the other so that the flaps may be torn off along the weak lines. The finger hole and weak line are spaced from each other so that the flaps may be welded together. This enables the bag, once it has been filled, to be closed along a line extending between weak line and finger hole from one side of the bag to the other.
