Abstract

Lamination of thermoplastic film with a metallic mesh by continuously overlaying the two layers and using hot gas jets to provide both the heat and pressure necessary to laminate layers of the film on opposite sides of the mesh. Used for laminates involving either layers of film applied to each face of the mesh or folded to enclose the borders of the mesh. Jet pressures adapt to varying surface contours better than mechanical laminating devices, are simpler and cheaper to install and can pass higher throughputs.
