Abstract
The coaxial shunt for high current value measurement has bar resistance elements (10) arranged parallel to the shunts longitudinal axis. Each resistance element (10) is made from a determined resistivity material. The material having a low temperature coefficient. The resistance elements (10) are arranged to form a cylindrical cage (11), which coaxially surrounds the axis of the shunt. Current and voltage terminals being provided. The cage (11) is made up of two groups (12, 14) of resistance bars (10) arranged alternately around the cage's circumference. Each group (12, 14) of bars (10) carries current in opposite direction to the flow of current in the other group. The current terminals (26, 28) have internal and external tubular conductors. These conductors are coaxial with the longitudinal axis. They are also separated by an annular gap from the bars of the cage. The bars of each group are connected in parallel. Short circuiting elements (36, 38) forms the junction between the groups. The elements ensures current circulation in opposite directions between adjacent bars.
