Abstract
Drop-down metal door for fitting to an old type brick and stone bakery oven is made from a number of elements joined together by expansion joints. The new door is made from four stainless steel elements; these are joined together by expansion joints of suitable material ,which may be the same metal as that of the door elements. The joints are screwed or rivetted to the adjacent elements. The thermal conditions of the old type oven, which give the cooked prods. their special flavour, are retained whilst the new door provides all the advantages of modern ovens notably the rapid charging facilities of the latter.
